A Personal Relationship with God
Scripture tells us the prerequisite for a relationship with God requires the following:
- Acknowledging your sinful nature and accepting the truth that you need salvation. "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23)
- Believing Jesus Christ's substitutionary death is the only way to eternal salvation. "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved..." (Acts 16:31)
- Confessing your sin and accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, surrendering your life to His will and purposes. "...if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." (Romans 10:9)
Maintaining that relationship is then an act of continual faith, trust and growing dependence upon Him, remembering His promise: “I will never leave you or forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5) and holding on to the truth expressed by Paul, “For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present or things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord”. (Romans 8: 38-39)
May the peace and joy you experience through your growing relationship with Him overflow to others He brings on your path day by day and may He be glorified through your changed attitude and actions that result from time spent with Him.
