Frequent washing of hands is a highly recommended practice to keep us free of Coronavirus germs and poor health. Another, more historic washing of hands<\/em>, occurred in Matthew 27:24 when Pilot tried to wash his hands of any accountability for the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n

\nIn creating us in His own image, God has given to each of us a “built-in” conscience to warn us when we are tempted to “sin”—to act out of the boundaries He has set for healthy lives. For true believers, the Holy Spirit convicts us and calls us to confess and turn from our sinful attitudes and ways.<\/p>\n

\nBut there is an increasingly subliminal effort in today\u2019s culture to eliminate the concept of sin, to wash our hands of any accountability for disobeying God\u2019s commandments. Thus, if there is no sin, there is no need of a Savior. Romans 3:23 reminds us,\u201c All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God\u201d.<\/p>\n

\nJesus paid for all<\/em> our sins on Calvary\u2019s cross and has set free from the penalty of death those who have put their trust in Him. But Philippians 2:12 reminds us we need to “work out our salvation”. Just as we wash our hands frequently to be free of germs, we need to confess our sins and be cleansed daily.
\n“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.\u201d 1 John 1:9<\/em><\/p>\n
